Future Airport Projects include:
Public Park Development - this Environmentally "Friendly" public park will provide upto 1.5 miles of walking trails and educational exhibits aimed at providing the public with park amenities that showcase the airport's operational and environmental efforts.
Taxiway “B” Southern Phase - this project would complete the only complete parallel taxiway associated with Primary Runway 13/31. The project is preparing Environmental Permitting Applications for submittal relative to this effort as it has significant intrusion into the adjacent saltwater tidal marsh area. Estimated cost is in excess of $5.0 million to complete construction of the 1,400LF taxiway section. Estimate permitting to be completed within approximately 18 months with construction facilitated using FAA AIP dollars as appropriate.
Inter-Modal Transportation Facility - this project would combine local transportation choices of air, rail and water into a single design concept. The goal of the effort being the elimination of costly infrastructure duplication normally associated with each transportation mode. Synergies common to all available and projected modes would be exploited to assure favorable economics and operating efficiencies.
